Speaking With Purpose

OLE OLE OLE OLE! OLE OLE! to the deutschland to the deutschland! OLE OLE!

Today was a jammed packed day!  It was amazing!  It started with a wonderful church sermon by Randy a friend of Gemeinde Christi!  He began with “I have a dream…” He talked about how each of us in imperfect and when one of us messes up in the church, it gives us an opportunity to practice grace towards one another.  He had some inspiring ideas that really made me examine my own life.  There was a potluck party for the Frost Family, a family that is really involved in the church and is moving to America from Hildesheim.  Afterwards, we went with two of my readers, Leo and Mario, to the country side.  They took us to a German Folk Fair at an Abbey in the a small village.  It was so fun to get a tour and have them translate for us!  As we were driving back, a backstreet boys song came on and we had a 90s flashback while Leo and Mario got to laugh at us a bit!  We then brought them back to the Bratcher house to treat them to Mexican food!  (Something they had never tried before.) We made chicken and ground beef soft tacos while Leo made bruschetta and a wonderful dessert that tasted like cherry cobbler for us!  It was great!  Then, we attended our first public viewing of a World Cup soccer game!  Germany vs. Australia!  Through out much of the game people were chanting and routing for Germany!  It was an amazing game!  And of course, WE WON!!!  When Germany wins here, they don’t mess around… There are people shouting in the streets, honking horns, and simply acting crazy!  It was a good chance to really spend time with the youth group and Leo and Mario to get to know the students outside of the church setting.  What a fun day indeed!
