Day 4 - School Children and Parties
Today we went to a local school and worked with an English teacher there. We went to two different sixth grader classes and a ninth grade class. They asked us all types of questions, including: American movies and music, school system, sports, and our hobbies. We also got to talk with them about their culture including: food, school, and family. We taught them simple American games like Simon Says and Duck, Duck, Goose. It was a blast! Afterwards, we went to visit downtown a bit and took a few pictures. We visited a local bakery and bought wonderful bretzels (large soft pretzels) that were delicious! Later that day I had a session with Mario. He has really great English from his school classes and it is really fun talking with him about his love for American cars, God’s plan, and everything in between. Tonight we had a really amazing evening with the youth group at Gemenide Christi. We played games like musical chairs, human knot, and learned a new one called chain tag, but the best part was the singing at the end. These teenagers can sing! It is awesome how God works through the singing voices of young people to display his greatness! We have another full day ahead of us tomorrow and cannot wait for morning to come! Yay waffles :)
